Default Tailgate Issue

Ok guys so recently i put my tailgate up and noticed the handle on the right side pops out and wont return to its resting position without me hitting it back in has anyone else had this problem and have any advice? Thannks

Yeah mine actually was having problems going back in. You can take off the long plate that goes across on the inside of the tailgate. I believe its 8 30torx screws/bolts. May have been more or less. But One of the rods on mine wasnt in the plastic clip right and was causing the handle not to go back in right. While i was in there i greased everything. That fixed it. Yours may have a totally different probably but you may find it when you take off that plate.

Yeah I've had 2 similar tailgate problems. First time the tailgate wouldnt open as if it were locked...so I removed the plate and found one side disconnected out of the plastic clip. A little super glue will hold it. Second time was like yours and all I did was lube everything inside. Works good now.
