Hmm, guess I never thought of that. I could always sell the 4.7 and find a Hemi, I could even go with a 6.1 at that point. I know some of you said that its not a very good truck motor, but this will be mostly a toy.

Yeah I know, I drove one. Only thing I didn't like was it was such a long stroke...I'm sure it'll be the same way with what I was wanting to build as well...but oh well.

BTW, it seems you could get a lot of 3.7L with sticks in a half ton. According to what I have been seeing on auto trader. So maybe a lot of you have seen them for sale at one point or another like you mention, and forgot or never realized it was the V6

There are a good bit of the 4.7 6spds. The 4.7 is sometimes hit or miss but i'll put mine up to any hemi. My 4.7 hauls ***.

Yeah, if I don't find one with a Hemi, then I'll go for a 6.1 swap. What I'd really like though is to find a 2500 and swap suspension parts with mine if it is reasonably possible to convert mine into a 3/4 ton since that will be my towing vehicle and I am no longer making 2 hour commutes which is why I bought the half ton in the first place for ride comfort and higher rear end for MPG, but now I found from you guys that the MPG with higher rear end is a joke with these trucks.

Now I'm to the point I wish it was a 3/4 ton, even though it has always pulled any load I ever asked of it. I have the weight distribution hitch and it always comes through to make my truck feel like a 3/4 ton. But I just can't imagine how much better it'd be as a 3/4.

As far as I know, the G-56 manual was only avail in the Hemi 2500 from 2007-2008. No manual in 2009 unless it was a diesel. Still continues to be offered in the diesels today & is the only one to offer a manual in a diesel.

What you'll spend in swapping motors you might as well go find a nice used srt10. They arent badly priced and they are mostly 6spds and will own the 6.1. Plus the srt10 is made for speed where as the 2500 is power and you cant beat those manuals like a car.
