Manual Tranmission??
I think I already know the answer, but can't remember for sure...were these trucks available with a manual tranny in a Hemi?? If not, is it possible to do a relatively easy swap? By that I mean without cutting/welding
Yes you could get a 6 speed with the Hemi (I believe only in 2500s). You're probably better off trading trucks, because you'll pretty much have to find one anyways for the appropriate parts that would be needed for a swap.
Sorry, I didn't specify, I wasn't thinking of swapping it in my truck, I was thinking of getting another truck RCSB and make a street rod type deal out of it...I find myself itching to shift gears a lot lately, but can never find a clutch pedal or floor shifter in my truck...of course I guess I could just get my Conquest driveable to play with gears. But I don't like that all that much, its a tight fit for me
Now that I think if it, maybe the 1500's you guys mentioned are they possibly Rumblebees? I forgot that they made a truck just like I was talking/thinking about building. Now what I am considering...I know I mentioned it before in another thread but never got a specific answer regarding this exact detail of the question...so here goes again. Someone mentioned that mods would be needed to change the rear end, but what about the whole leaf spring setup and rear end, etc? If I were to find a 2500 with a stick, and put the 3/4 ton stuff on my current truck cuz I'd use it for towing, and swap the 1/2 ton stuff on the truck I want to make a streeter out of...or is it way more hassle then its worth...and just stick with the ideas from the previous thread to make my current truck more like a 2500 with gear swap and air bags
If you're looking to build a "streetrod" type truck, you'd be a lot better off with something like a TKO or T56, the stock truck trannys don't have ideal gears for going fast/racing and won't put up with being shifted hard.

Any good websites that have them that you know of, or should I just google it? Not trying to be lazy, but I usually prefer to deal with companies that someone has had good experiences with.
