You know.....I havent seen anyone on this forum "flamed".
If you got a Dodge question I don't think anyone would do that on here, unless it's out and out a stupid offensive posting which yours isn't.
BTW I don't have an answer for your question but hey, good post.

I could be wrong, but I think that the 1500 and 3500 have different spring mounting locations. Not that this is impossible to fix, just don't expect it to bolt right up. Differential wise, if your 2wd there shouldn't be a big issue. if you do this though, you will need 8 lug wheels in the back with your 5 lug in the front, which could cause you to get some new after market wheels if you want them to match.

Also dually front axles have wheel mounting surfaces that stick out much further in order to use dually wheels up front..

You're a lot better off just buying a 3500.

It would take some fab. Not being a dick, but what are you trying to accomplish? You will have to use the 1500 springs so you'll have a dually but wont do you any good because you'll still have a half ton truck that can carry and tow nothing heavier than it can now. Sorry I just dont see the point at all.

your probably going to run into:
leaf spring mounting locations different
u joint
possibly slip yoke
possibly driveshaft
rear brake differences
a hemi or 4.7L rotating a 14 bolt 11.5 AAM rear axle might put a lot of stress on driveline
remove badges (cause if people saw 1500 ram with a dually rear axle and bed might be thinking .... wtf?)
wheels ... backs will be 8 lug fronts will be 5 lug
