This may be a silly question, but is there a way to convert from the stock style of key for my 2008 Ram (Triangle head key with lock/unlock, panic, and Remote Start buttons) to the new style that doesn't have a metal key on it, just a fob that you stick in a socket? I know they both use transponders, so I would think it would work, besides replacing the switch with the square socket and mounting which could be sticky. Is it possible?

 

They make after market RFID kits but they are not cheap.
