I have done all the testing on asd relay for my truck. Tested relay, voltage to relay, voltage to output of relay, all was good but I do not have ground to coil voltage. Does the 12v come from the PCM or does the PCM give the circuit ground? When I jumper the output circuit the truck runs fine. I read in my Haynes repair manual that cam or crank angle sensors will turn this relay off. I have no engine codes.

 

The PCM controls the grounds.

What is your issue and what are you trying to solve?

 

What would keep the pcm from supplying ground? A bad cam or crank angle sensor should give a code. I have the asd relay jumpered so that the truck will run. Are there any other things that controll asd relay? I should ad 3.7l 6speed manual tranny. Thanks!

 

im sure there are sensors that govern and control but Im not sure which without reading up on them. In the link below you will find a link you can click on to download the service manual for your truck. Search through it and read and it will tel you what all sensors it covers. Ive read it before but I cant remember at this time with so much other stuff going through my head
