Default Heated Seat AND ESP/BAS buttons working but not illuminated... HELP!!!

hey guys im new here and also a new ram owner... i have a 2008 ram 1500 laramie.

The problem i am having is with the buttons on the bottom of my dash, right above the cupholders...

the driver side seat heater and ESP/BAS buttons are working but WILL NOT illuminate when i turn my lights on... the rear window and passanger heated seat buttons are just fine and illuminated... any ideas or advice?

Burnt out bulbs? did you take it apart and check the bulbs yet?

theres not a bulb that i can see... its a switch and i took it apart and theres no bulb...

There are either bulbs or LEDs. Either way, if they are working but not illuminated but everything else is illuminated, then they are burnt out as suggest above.

It is common with AC controls and dash lights.

they are probably really small smd led's then. So small they are hard to notice without careful looking. they will be almost flat with the circtuit board.



they could even be smaller than this

Might have bad contacts, burnt out resistors or the illumination wire has a short in it?
Those smd's usually last a really long time. It's certainly not impossible though.

Generally they do, yah, but I just bought a SMD block of LED's and had 3 burn out withing a month, so it is possible.
