exhaust leak or knocking??
So I have a 2003 4.7 slt ram. w 79,000 miles. Within the last few weeks the truck has developed a sound only when driven at load (meaning in drive) at 2k RPM.... Ive searched for leaks in the exhaust but havent found anything... im wondering if maybe a baffle is loose in the Cat? or maybe theres a loose bolt by the manifold.. im gonna get under there again today and try to find something...
it sounds like an exhaust leak and it seems like the sound is exiting out the tail pipe. im just hoping its not an issue with the motor....I did put the parking brake on and put the truck into gear and reved her up to 2k where it always makes the noise and i didnt hear anything ... its odd. I just cant seem to find the problem....
Any suggestions? has anyone had this issue??
thanks for the help in advance as always guys!

Agreed, check all of those manifold bolts. But with you not telling us where you live, salt and sand help eat up things on the bottom side. So have you checked any of your exhaust pipes and welds? Try getting out there and under the truck and doing a full and complete inspection. Tap on the cats and see if anything is wrong with them.
