Default Heater door actuator troubleshooting

I think I am having a blend door issue.
Before I decide to live with it, I though I would take a closer look.

How do I check the for voltage at the actuator (or motor)? I removed the plug and connected a test light to the blue/red wire and ran the switch on the dash through all the selections. No power.

I connected the light to the blue/ white wire, no power.

Should the motor receive power the entire time the switch is in the floor position? or is it for a short period of time?

Wondering if it is the dash switch, the motor, or the door.

Try these threads. You can also download the service manuals in my signature link to get any electrical schematics you may need for troubleshooting.

Did you pull the motor off and plug it in and see if it moves? That would be the easiest. 99% of the time the doors break or strip on the shaft and fall off or just hang and dont move.

I pulled part of the dash. I found that the motor is turning.
I can see the heater door when I look in from the floor.
If I push the door it will stay up until put on the defrost. Once I do that It will not move back.

Any chance it is the just the pin on the white plastic spindle?

Trying to avoid pulling the box. I called heater treater and they didnt recommend fixing it.

I beleive I read that the blend door stripping is pretty common in our rams. That is what it sounds like your problem is to me. Im pretty sure the only way to fix it is to pull the box and replace the door.
