Default 06 1500 4x4 AT shifting problems

4.7L Truck has about 53,000 miles now.

at 40k mi it started sliping got worse and about 42k wouldnt even get out of Park. I called my aftermarket warranty and had it towed to amco trans. they "replaced" (supposedly) the trans with a rebuilt one and she ran fine. a week later, trans had slow drip leak, took her back, and re-sealed, problem fixed...

at 51k miles, major slippage again under medium acceleration with no load. called my waranty again, had it towed to bergeron dodge (new orleans area). they charged me rediculous diagonsticis fees/ fluid/seal replacement fees, and did nothing else. they said they couldnt get it to slip, and didnt find a problem looking in the tranny...I asked them if they stepped on it and drove a few miles, as it does it almost EVERY TIME, wtf ???

Im getting no error codes or dummy lights, and fluid is at the proper fill. Any clues, is this common.

Thanks,
-Eddie

Does it make a difference if it's hot or cold?

I have always let it warm up before i go above 2k rpm. i guess i could accell harder when cold to find out. but it surely does it even when its warm. edit, i just rompd on it while cold for a block or so, and didnt have any slippage.

forgot to mention that my guages and dash lights bounce up and down for ad if dash is connecting/disconnecting ??

Iv been searching the forum and read alot about selinoid problems? i also read that -Sonnax transmission line pump booster- may help?

I also read this http://www.aa1car.com/library/transm...sler_45rfe.htm same tranny as mine ???

I read here- http://www.dodgedakotas.com/boards/dea/331.html - and when i had to have it towed, it sounds like this guys "drain back" problem

I do not believe it is in limp mode, iv counted the gears shifting and it goes thru all 4 (but we have 5?) even when brand new, i counted 4 up and 4 down.

iv been reading for a few hours now, maybe they arent mounting the filter correctly, sounds like its easy to mess that up ? should i get this and do it my self, looks different than the oem filter http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FRM-FT1223A/

Take it out to a field somewhere and Have at it! Do everything you can to tear that tranny up short of physically beating on it with a hammer. Floor it, Tug of war with it, Power brake it, etc... Then when you have destroyed the tranny or at least pushed it into constant limp they will have no choice but to replace it under warranty.

If you have the drain back problem, after the truck sits overnight, pull the dip stick before you start the truck, the fluid would be abnormally high on the stick, like 4 inches or more than after you start the truck and run it though the gears and check it. Don't run the truck till it's hot, just start the truck and manually go though the gears from low up to park and then check it.

Chrysler has ALWAYS had a reputation for the best V8s on the planet and the worst transmissions, BUT the 45rfe and 545rfe are pretty solid.

I've NEVER seen Aamco transmissions fix a transmission that stayed fixed. Around here, they are called the Maaco of repair shops.

P0700 is a generic code given by the PCM which basically signifies the TCM has popped a code.

P0876 is a fluid pressure issue. Low fluid will cause it, as will a bad TCM and the "drainback" issue would cause it for sure. So would the very common filter being seated poorly (the cause of more transmission issues than any other)...
