Hey Weed,
Is this the kit you used?

Anyone else running this? What do you think of it?

Thanks.

LOL....yeah was out of town for the Anniv with the wife and she forbid any internet....LOL

Thats the kit. However, you can sometimes find the plastics 06+ valve covers and dual firing coils on the LX board for a lot less. Then all you would need is a 06+ engine harness so you could cut off and reuse the ignition coils or order (8) ign coil harnesses. The P/N is 05019952AA

the VC P/N is 05037531AC (2)
VC screws are 06507366AA (16 or 20)
Ign coils are 56029129AB

LX forums classifieds

5.7 to 6.1 coil conversion pics

I originally did mine with long wires but went back and cut them short so they did not go over the engine.

The brown with the stripe is the ASD (auto shut down) wire. Thats why you see that same wire (1 of 2) on each coil whereas the other wire (2 of 2) is different and fires the coil based on pulses from the PCM.

So basically you cut the end of the OEM harness off the wires that go to the OEM coils you have now. But dont cut too short in case you ever want to go back. Then wire the new harness in its place. Soldering is best but 3M heatshrink butt connectors will work. Running 3/8" wire loom over everything afterwards just makes it all purty and hides the connections you made.

Thanks for looking at them and suggesting them. There is a lot of time not only involved in doing the work but also going slow enough to take pics and document everything

No problem, I know its a PITA to document, which is why I have them bookmarked for when I do mine (now I just have to stay in port long enough to put the parts I have on the truck).
