Default ETC light - how do I get codes?

I have had no problems with my 2004 Dodge Ram until today.

While driving home, about a 20 minute highway drive, the ETC light comes on ( the lightning bolt in the bottom right corner ) ... my truck acted like it was stuck in a lower gear, throttling high. I slowed down and got on the shoulder of the highway. It was idling at 20mph, my gas pedal would not cause an effect, RPMs were stationary. I then stopped, tried to start the truck, and it was like there was nothing igniting. My truck would not start. After waiting a few minutes, turned key again and started right up, made it home with no problems. But the ETC light remains on. Is there a way to get error codes off of my truck without using a computer or having to take it to the shop? Also, is there a place where I can look up these error codes? Any help would be appreciated.. Thank you.

With you having an 04 you would either need a tuner that can scan the truck or go to an auto parts store and have them connect an OBDII scanner to the truck and give you the codes. Once you have them, then you can come back here and we can help guide you more.

Ok got a couple of error codes -

Emissions Control System Purge Flow Fault
P0441

TAC System Low Airflow
P2175

I had to have my EGR Valve (i think thats what it was) replaced about 8 months ago, could this related to that? I am thinking I can taking back to the same shop and have them work on it if so.
