Rock sliders / steps
Does anyone make actual rock sliders for the Ram that also incorporate some sort of step? I`ve searched high and low and all I can find for sliders are the OEM`s that offer no step (and for that matter don`t additionally bolt to the pinch seam). Otherwise, there are plenty of nice steps, but those all mount only to the pinch seam with no link back to the frame, and most of the steps are angled down in such a manner that they would rip off should they come into contact with a rock.
Am I going to have to talk to a local fab shop?

ive only seen ones that were attached to body bolts or pinch seam...the only problem with getting them fabbed up to the frame is there would be no way for the cab to flex at all which will happen while you're off road
http://www.smittybilt.com/product/index/3.htm ... not sure if this is what you are looking for ? i know it looks like it supports the rocker panel but maybe it doesnt mount where you want it ? and has a step!!! little expensive to run rocks over though also !
I have a buddy who does a lot of work for the guys over on the Tacoma site. His name is Kenny, and the name of his company is KRfabrication. He can make anything you want, and does AMAZING work. PM me if you want his information. He is located here in So. Cal, but ships to wherever you are.

The factory installed rock sliders for the power wagons (if so equipped) mount to the frame and are quite stout. They can even be used to jack the truck up. Why couldn't you use those and fab up some low profile steps on them?
The PowerWagon rock sliders were only a limited run and they are no longer available new. And anyone that has them probably wont sell. They come up on e-bay, but are rare.
