E85 Ethanol...how to start using?
Well my truck is in the shop and will be for who knows how long, Dodge ordered parts yesterday supposedly from coroprate so it could be a few days.
Anyway, a new station opened here with E85. I have the 4.7 flex fuel but I think there is some sort of process to using it, not just filling the tank and going...yall have any ideas?

My wife's suburban is set up for it. Yes, you just fill the tank and go. You can swap between that and regular gas at any time. You can mix them in any amounts. Your MPG's will go down with it, but it is cheaper.
Do not mix them! The manual states that it has to be almost empty to fill up with E85 or the other way around. And Why do you want to use E85? It'll be cheaper but your mpg will go down to the ground with E85....
Like above don't mix. If I remember correctly you have to have a quarter of a tank or just about empty but I think its a quarter tank so the computer can calculate mpg correctly and ignition timing. Also I may be wrong but don't you have to use a special oil in the engine too??
Use it and enjoy a cleaner engine, less of a hit to your wallet, AND a little more power & throttle response. I had a 2008 Grand Caravan that, when using E85, picked up a little more pep. The small percentage in fuel economy that you will lose balances with the lower price of E85. So, really it balances out economically with a boost in performance as a bonus!

actually E85 ends up being cheaper in the end, even with the loss of MPG.....according to my calculations, I havent tried it yet
and the quarter tank was what I was thinking....couldnt remember...when I get my truck back from the dealer we will see

you will have to have a very empty tank to fill and switch to e85 fuel. you do not want to mix them
E85 is around 105 octane rating which supposidly give you more power and a cleaner engine but you suffer with the loss of mpg.
