Ever think about how much of your tax dollars go to military to be overseas to protect the 30% of oil we import from the Middle East?
It takes 80-120 cents of every gallon just for protection to get oil through the Suez Canal. And we are the one footing the bill for other countries like China how get the fuel out without paying anything because we are doing all the work.
But I guess giving some tax money in subsides to American farmers is too much for you compared to the 1000's of soldiers who die overseas.
American farmers purchase things here, keep town economies alive across the country, cars, trucks, phones, lumber, etc. Not sure how much is returned to our economy from Arab nations.
2/3 of all corn used for ethanol is returned back as distillers grains and sold for feed. So the food for fuel argument isnt an issue. Ethanol uses the starch part of corn and leaves the more nutritional 2/3rds part for feed. Farmers can plant more corn to take care of both industries if the price is high enough.
Its renewable.
If the US government would allow an equal opportunity to use ethanol instead of Oil companies slandering ethanol so as to not lose more of their market share, we could have ethanol across the country for $1.70 gallon. Would cost vs loss in mileage be an issue then?
If you were really that worried about gas mileage, then dont buy a freakin huge truck and motor.

Since you haven't tried it, what CALCULATIONS could you possibly be using. Did the E-85 God visit you in a dream or something, and shower you with correct information. If you haven't used it you shouldn't even try to form an opinion, much less post BS on a public forum

I do agree that its not perfect right now because it uses more energy to produce it than it makes in fuel, but its getting bigger and bigger and logic would stand that if it was such a drain it would be dying out in a recession (that ended two years ago according to our dictator). I just saw a new Tundra with a flex fuel sticker...even the foreign companies are buying in to these few politicians and lobbyists? We get to hear what people want us to hear and thats all there is to it

and negative on my math being off, Im graduating in December with a minor in business....i have a 34 gallon tank man, and i dont think its that uncommon

and if that guy found that it had to be $0.38 cheaper it would definitely help because its almost 80 cents cheaper here

I have a feeling I know what your major is.....BS and the S doesn't stand for science, and we all know what the B stands for
