Default Fan switch only works on position 3 and 4

hey guys, new to the site, not to dodges though, i've owned 5 Jeep Cherokees, an 07' Srt8 Jeep and now have an 05 hemi sport crew cab with 4" Rancho lift, Katskinz leather, sunroof and a ton of extras with only 40k KM on it, etc...

problem is my blower fan only seems to be working on position 3 and 4, the first 2 positions don't activate the fan... is this a switch problem? is it expensive, difficult to fix myself?

here's a pic just for reference, thanks guys/gals

Yeah, mine only works on 4. It's a $10 switch, and you've basically have to dismantle the dash to get the to the f'ing thing.

As said above, it could be the switch or the resistor block. I would check the resistor block first if it were me.

you guys wouldn't know a part number for this thing would you?

i was just quoted $181.00 CDN for the part "heater motor resistor" from my local dealer so i doubt it's the right part. part # 68004539AA is what they quoted me for it... i was told by some people the resistor is like 50 bucks max.

thanks
