I have done this modification myself. A good heatgun some tuff hands because that black goo gets really hot and a tube of clear silicone and this task can be handled in about an hour. Careful not to touch the chrome though its really fragile and gets smeared easily also having a buddy to help you pull the lights apart helps alot.

HEY GUYS JUST WONDERIN I HAVEN'T DONE MUCH CHECKIN ON THIS YET BUT IF ANY OF YOU LIVE IN VIRGINIA I WAS WONDERIN ABOUT THE LEGALITY OF TAKING THE ORANGE PART OUT AND THE BLACK HOUSINGS THE GUY IS SELLIN

I live in N VA. I think (check with your local police) that as long as the bulb in the turn signal is amber then you're ok. I don't think they care about the appearance, they just want the light emitted to be amber.

Charles has it right. as long as the bulb or the cover is amber you are ok. since the bulb in the headlight is amber you'll be ok, the side marker is only for asthetics

As to legality, I posted on another thread that it is legal to have amber OR white in CA (according to an attorney there), which is usually has the most stringent vehicle regs anywhere. I've other vehicles with white lights such as this, one of which I drive all over the central US and have never had any problems (doesn't mean I won't ever, of course.)
