Replacing my passenger side front wheel bearing assembly, I got the three bolts that hold it on the back and the one in the front and it just won’t budge off. She seems to be on their pretty good. Advice on how to get it off??????????

Penetrating lubricant and a swift hammer placement. it's prob rusted around the edges and i believe it does seat into a channel as well??

Yupp spray with PB or some other penetrating lube and grab a BFH and smack away. you might Try to grab a pry bar or big screwdriver to help get behind it. Another trick I've seen is take the bolt out most of the way and smack the bolts with a hammer. this will help drive it off. But the downside there is your probably gonna need to grab some new bolts. Good luck man!

When I did mine, I tried one of those slide hammers, and all I had when I was done was a sore arm. They corrode on tight. Spray it down with some penetrating oil a few hours before you try to remove it. Then apply heat to the STEEL part of the old bearing assy. NOT the aluminum steering knuckle. Then work around the bearing with a flat (Stanley Wonderbar) bar that has been sharpened or use a sharp cold chisel, and a BFH. Work around evenly and it will come out. This way you can reuse the bolts. When you reassemble, clean out the hole where the bearing goes with a wire cup brush on an angle grinder. Use Sillicone brake parts lube on all contact points where the bearing sits. It works much better than anti seize. Can someone sticky this as I have posted it a few times, thanks.

I'm sure someone jury rigged it so they used their power steering, to "push off" the hub by using bits of bars/pipes etc?
Might be a thought?

No one has asked if he has a 4wd and maybe the center shaft is holding it on. If i undo my 3 bolts on the backside my wheel hub will literally fall off. But I assume thats because Ive had my front end apart so many times and we have no salt or show around here.

Default 98 Stratus stuck front wheel bearing - tip

The 3 retaining torx head capscrews are 12mm X 1.75 pitch. I purchased a few hex head 12mm X 1.75 pitch X 100 mm long (about 4 to 5 inches) and screwed them in from behind into the seized bearing housing. With the wheel turned completely to one side, it's easier to bang on the longer capscrew head with stubby sledge hammer. That did it after a lot of hitting the C/S heads from behind, the bearing came out of its bore... a little rusted from years of sitting there! Once the bearing started to separate from the wheel, I inserted a large flat head screwdriver and hammered it in like a wedge at places around the bearing housing to help force it out. It worked! 1998 Stratus with 199K miles, and likely the original bearing. I am 2nd owner for the last 8 years.

When you get it apart, clean the knuckle with emery cloth. Put anti seize on the new bearing. Makes it easier the next time.
