02 Ram will not accelerate!!!!!
I have a buddy with an 02 360 Ram and the truck will not accelerate and wants to stall. It is slowly getting worse as he keeps driving it. If he pumps the pedal it will sometimes come out of it and work like a charm. Does it cold and at running temp. Any ideas would be appreciated. He thinks fuel pump or filter and I think plugs and wires. Oh and also the cel is on showing 138 and 132 which is both O2 sensors. Surely that would not cause the truck to work like that, but..........

i would check o2 sensors since the code is showing it
this link should give you a general understanding on how to troubleshoot and determine on your own what the problem could be...
if all of your o2s check out then you might start with fuel filter
be sure if you replace o2s to unhook neg side of battery for 90 seconds to reset computer
you might try that first anyways....unhook neg side of battery for 90 seconds or more and hook it back up...turn the key to on position but not running for about 1 min this helps pcm to re-establish parameters for a/f ratios then turn it off then start the vehicle and see what happens...take it down the road
hope this helps

Im assuming you have a full stock exhaust with cats right?
P0138
HO2S-12 (Bank 1 Sensor 2) Signal Shorted to Voltage
Driver's side rear O2 sensor (after the cat)
Possible Causes;
O2S signal tracking (wet/oily) in connector causing a short between the signal and heater power circuits
O2S signal circuit open, or ground circuit open
O2S heater supply circuit is open
PCM has failed
Check the conector first see if it is oily or wet inside
Next insepect the wiring for breaks or cuts and damage Creating an open or short to ground Common problem of melted wires against the exaust pipes or manifolds.
Check the heater circuit make sure it has power (possible fuse)
Last but worste case the ECM has failed
-------------------------------------------------
P0132 is O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0138 is O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
Both of these are the drives side, one is before the cat and one is after the cat
--------------------------------------------------------
You can buy replacements from any auto parts store for about $25 each
