Do I have to flash the computer after a TPS install ?
the dealer says I need to flash the computer after I install my new TPS ? I have other people say no I don't. So do I or not ?
I think all you need to do is to reboot the PCM by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. And then calibrate the TPS by turning on the ignition, do not start. Leave the ignition on for 10 seconds and the PCM will read the TPS values and you are good to go....
OK thanks. That was just another attempt from the Dealer to get money out of me. I took it in the other day to have a water pump and Hub replaced (warranty) and they came back with a list of things that were " about to cause me an accident " They said my brakes were almost non existent, Tie rod was about to snap, fan clutch was bad, TPS censor is bad ( which I knew about ) and the alternator is making noises...... so they want $1800 to fix everything.... good thing I know people, I got all the parts for 200 bucks and Someone is putting the stuff on for another 100. $1800 yeah right.
O and I did the breaks the other day I had over half of my pad left, I checked for play in the tie rod while I was in the wheel well and there is a slight amount of play but I have seen way way way worse, by no means is it about to break. Scamming Dealer Mother F%$#ers !
