FAN CLUTCH problem 2002 Ram 1500
I just replaced the fan clutch on my 2002 Ram 1500 4.7L Auto with an aftermarket one. Now there appears to be some drag when I accelerate, most noticeable when the engine has been off for a while. Does anyone know what the problem might be. Thanks in advance for the help.

define 'drag'?
If you mean loss of power, the size, weight, and pitch angle of the blades could very well be robbing you of engine power.. if it's bigger/heavier, or had a steeper angle on the blades you could very well be recognizing the parasitic drag on your engine being greater than the OEM fan...
this is where I beat a dead horse: E-Fan that rascal... I just finished mine a few weeks ago, and as far as performance enhancement, (which is NOT what my aim was by doing it) it is third on my little list of mods that really pay off.. I think I have somewhere around $100 in it..
just my .02...

It goes away because it clutches as speed increases the flow and cools the coil thingy in the fan. The efan moves just as much air if not more idling stationary as a clutch fan. Mine move a combined 5k cfm. I don't know what the OE CF moves, but I think I got it beat- no matter the ambient temperature. :-)

Ok I replaced mine yesterday and I have the same problem....Big whoosh sound of sucking air and a little loss of power from 0-20. I am not happy about this. Where can I get a good e fan at ?

The A/C is independent of the cooling fan. My e-fan works great even in 100+ temps. Once you get past 30 mph or so, the fan isn't necessary (which is why they switch off).
