Death Wobble
Any ideas on how to cure death wobble?? I have replaced all inner and outer tie rods, drag link, track bar bushings, new tires and added dual steering stabilizer and BD steering stabilizer bracket. I do know now i need new u joints and ball joints. Any ideas on what brand to go with and how to remove the hub bearing assembly with out destroying it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Ill be running 33/55/20 tires when work is complete. I was running 305/45/22 and was told thats why my u joints are worn out cause the weight of the wheel and tire combo.
for u-joints precision are the brand i go with. Ball joints i just use the NAPA brand. Can't help you with the hub bearing assembly, you just haveto take your time. I had a friend with the death wobble on his truck and he purchased a support for the pitman arm and that seemed to cure the problem.
The only two people I know of personally with 2500s used the steering box bracket and it fixed them right up, although I'm sure that worn U-joints would cause a good bit of wobble.
If'n I was buying 3rd party suspension parts, they'd be Moog...

I do have the DB steering box stabilizer on the truck. I have moog poly bushings on my track bar. I talked to don thuren from thuren fabrication and he said that they were ok and he used them as well but, every once and awhile he would get soft batches. I have done his test theory about how to tell if they are shot and mine are and i didnt even get a year out of them. I dont do any extreme off roading. i did use 4x4 alot last winter and i heard this winter is suppose to be worse. I also have the spring spacers as a part of my 4" lift, would that be a problem? Im running out of options and went through over 1500 in parts not including my labor.
what brand tires are you currently running, alot of them have soft sidewalls or in time they rot internally(look normal outside) and will cause DW.
I had this problem with some BFG AT's(315's),I had DW and I bought some new tires and the DW,went away....this has been my experience.....good luck

I was running the BFG AT but changed them about 8 months ago to Pireli's. 90% of it went away and now has come back full force. I can't go above 60 mph with out it doing the dw and that's not hitting any bumps. I also had the alignment to current specs and not the factory set points. I just ordered a thuren tracbar as Don Thuren says it should stop the DW. I still have the factory tracbar with moog bushings. I did Dons test and they are shot!!! Sucks considering they are only about 8 months old. There is other things that need replacing on my truck that is contributing to it as well. I need u joints, ball joints, sway bar end links and I have billstein shocks to put on as well. It will be interesting getting all this done. Anyone have any ideas on how to remove the hub bearing assembly with out destroying it??
