Default flat plate hitch

i have a 2008 1500 hemi and in the process of installing a flat plate gooseneck hitch, I am needing some help on figureing out how and where to mount it to the frame as i am not sure if the cross memebers of the bed would be strong enough to hold, the plate is 3/8 thick with 2 5/16 ball, i will be pulling either a 2 horse or 3 horse gooseneck trailer with a 4'-6' short wall. any help would be great. thanks

Going to have to weld some 4" c-channel to the top of the frame where it meets the bed. Talk to a truck body fab shop. Are you shure you want a gooseneck in a 1500 with an axle that is prone to failure when overloaded? I gave up on my 9-1/4 axle, and installed one out of a 2500 van because I use my 1500 so hard. What about getting a bumper pull 4 place trailer instead?

Default plate

thanks for the reply, I won't be hauling alot mostly on the weekends, and the weight should not put me over on the max, maybe close. I have a daughter getting into barrel racing so i am looking for a trailer that the wife and daughter can be comfy when the summer time comes and cool fall times maybe even in the winter. Ive thought about a hide away but i it won't be a problem with the ball as i will use the trailer if i need to. I'm just tryin to get some ideas what i need to do so that i will be safe and i know it won't go any where if something should happen. any ideas would be great. thanks
