After looking around some more on the internet, after my engine rebuild I found that I didn't extend the right vent on the transmission, there's still a weep hole behind the torque converter that sucks in air. Has anyone wrecked their transmission from this sucking in water? Is there any way I can prevent water getting in there without dropping the transmission?
Also, what other places are bad to get water into? (Intake is higher already)

 

Ive never heard or read of anyone getting water in the trans unless it was submerged. Are you having issues or just trying to prevent some futuristic-ally.

 

I have heard of water getting into the front and rear diff's before.
Seals and stuff pass when in deep water.

You would have to be in water well past the bottom of the doors, I think the fan would be kicking water before it got to the transmission breather.

 

Hmmm okay. Apparently in the older ram's it was a problem. Just looking to prevent any more big repairs, hence the e-fan w/off switch, higher intake. Any ideas for making the engine bay more 'splash-resistant'?

 

we had an 05 cummins that filled the trans with water and wrecked it, mind you the water was above the door emblems... even hitting the headlights, never saw that one coming, LOL. but it will get you if you are fording deep water
