That's pretty much the take I got when I read the manual after running a 5.9L Ram, a silverado, and some ricer honda on the way home.

I can't recall a new car that I ever babied for the first whatever period. The only engine I ever did any formal breakin on was the engine in my Coronet and I basically followed what Mopar Performance recommends which is short part throttle and wide open throttle burst for varying distances not exceeding the 1/4 mi.

Personally, I wouldn't worry to much about it.

I broke that rule the minute I left the lot.

Though in Austin, TX traffic it's hard to get on it for too long.

Yeah, I noticed the exact same thing on my new 2005. In fact, it's the only quirk that I have found with the truck.

At first I thought the half charcoal / half khaki interior was a messup, but that has been confirmed to be standard. Then I thought the doors were out of spec because the top lips extend about a half inch above the roof, but that's an intentional air and water channel (or at least that was what I was told by several people).

Did you buy it or lease it? If you bought it do what you think is right, if you leased let her rip!
