Shift Lever Removal
Hey all,
Dont have the truck with me now but how can i remove the shift lever? Also is the wiring to relocate the O/D button going to be spliced or plug and play?
Thanks.

You can removed the steering column shroud and push the pin out to remove the column shifter. You can pry out the O/D button and cut the wire and add wire to it to lengthen it to go where you want. You can buy a column shroud for a standard shift truck to replace the one you have now and cover the shifter hole. Sounds like you are adding a floor shifter?
What kind? Make sure you do some pics if you are.

Thanks weed. Yeah weather is cooler now so going to finally go about putting in the B&M truck megashifter. Going to run it without that black bulky skirt that comes with it. I wonder if there is a alternate skirt that can go with it.
no other skirts I know of but like you, I am adding a floor shifter also (hence why I know a little about it already) but also like you I will not be running a skirt. Mine will be mounted inside a custom center console with only the top part of the handle coming up through a slot.

This is a muffler video but you can see the shifter at 2:04. Right now it is function over form but may just have a custom boot skirt made and still keep the cup holder. Woud love to go the custom floor center console route like Nick did on DT. Maybe one day.
Set my shift light at 6500rpm then did 2 WOT runs to 80. It's nice hitting 6800rpm without the worry to accidentally go into N or another gear.
Just one more mod to go on my 2010 List.

Daniel, I like that, very neat. Back in the day I had a B&M Ratchet shifter in a Chevy II, I fabricated an aluminum base about 10" high that mounted the shifter at a angle almost level with the seat. It was angled back a little and cocked off to the right some. The egonomics was perfect and looked good. Can you post up some pictures of what you have?
Thanks,
Thanks,
