rear end howling?
so! just when i thought i had almost finished breaking the voodoo spell...
90% of the times that i reverse,(in 2 wheel drive) i here a howling noise in the rear. its more noticable when it gets cold and worsens when i switch to 4x4HI and LO. it does have a pattern to it (like every full rotation it howls for a full second) maybe carrier bearing? wheel bearing?
I need to get this fix ASAP!! Snow is already here, and we are getting bombarded and i really want my 4X4 working properly, thanks in advanced

Would it be hard to replace my self? and is it expensive? or im i better of having a pro do it?
note: I've never touched the rear end when comes down to mods or repairs.
Thanks guys!
I think it would be best to leave to a pro if you haven't done diff. work before. You said it only happens in reverse, how fast are you going? I know my rear end makes some noise in reverse, but only when I really get some speed going, just backing out a parking spot and I don't notice excessive noise.
