broncoremy, I think you might have the trade-in and private party numbers switched!

I agree that $13k is too much. KBB has private party at about $10k and that's with 80,000 miles and a few options.

I'd be willing to part with mine for $12k and it does have every option including 3.92s and the full tow package, and it's got only 73k miles.

Yeah, $13k is VERY steep for an '03, I don't care what kinda condition it's in. That's about the going rate for '05 Hemi 4x4s with around 60-75k on them around here. Hell, I've even seen some '08 4.7 4x2 QCs listed for that locally...

@BlueHemi, yep I unintentionally flipped them. My mistake.

@Hammer, you are correct. Playing with the numbers in any of the guides (perfect condition, every accessory, no miles) is still not going to get you even close to $13k; $10.5k or so max. No matter how much I roll back the miles I still won't get $13K for my Ram.

@John M, I'll give you 12 for yours if you give me 12 for mine, but then we would just be trading black-4-white.

@harbors, if the seller is firm at $13k, move on. You can get a younger truck for that.

Thanks again for all the advice, I was thinking the price was a little high to. It only has 55,000 miles though. The problem I am having is that in my area of Washington state I am not finding any trucks cheaper unless they have 100,000 miles plus on them and even then they still want $15,000 plus. This is from a dealer.

So I guess I will just have to keep looking.

Here is the link to the truck if anyone is interested http://www.chevroletofpuyallup.com/puyallup-used-cars-tacoma/detail/2003-Dodge-Ram-1500-2WD-Laramie/77/1D7HA18DX3S340574/~/VehicleTypeID_10~Price1_~Make_~Model_/17

I pull my 16ft trailer a lot but I do have a 20 I use from time to time if needed. But changing gears certainly would help out.

Harbors if you really like that truck offer the dealer $9000.00 for it. And tell him that what it is worth according to Edmunds. The worst thing that can happen is they'll say no.
