You can get the seal anywhere. I would just avoid napa seals.

I honestly would just pay the shop a 100 bucks. The nut sets the preload on the pinion bearings. Either to tight or to loose will cause the pinion bearing to fail and you'll being paying someone 500 bucks to rebuild the diff. I'm not sure if the C9.25 has a crush sleeve, but you dont want to crush it anymore.

Yes the 9.25 has a crush sleave in there. Called the dealer just for the hell of it and they $750 to do it, called around to a couple more places and on average they $300-$350 to do it because they have to replace the crush sleave at the same time. Im thinking this one will be done in the garage over christmas since I have a few weeks off.

I fthe dealer does it and they dont do it right, then you will have rear end noise if they over tighten or under tighten the crush sleeve... it never ends.

I pulled a front axle out of my girls explorer and took in to a professional ford mechanic. He tore it apart and put it back together for me and i used the napa seals. (pinion and shaft seals) He told me they were junk, but i already had them. Well its been 10 months and the pinion seal went to the point it lost a quart with in the last 6 months.

Mine went on the truck at 50k. After bitching at dodge that i found there was a TSB on a bad run of seals on the 02-03 trucks I paid an ex dodge tech a 100 bucks to replace mine. He did the cheap way not tearing into the axle. He said he has done a bunch that way and that he would fix it if i had problems after. So just depends.
