Post Brake Light on/off switch

hey guys my first time posting a thread i been a long time peeping tom on the forum lot of great stuff here have not seen this question posted or spoken about before and thought id drop it on here see if anyone can help me out after many failed attempts i have a 04 ram and i am trying to wire a switch in to shut my brake lights off when braking and also another switch to shut off the rear running lights and license plate lights. I do alot of hunting and and thought this would be a neat trick. Any input on this would be great.

Did you post this under a different name some time back because someone else had the same Q not too long ago.

Anyway, just download the Service Manual from the links in my signature listed below and find your 12v brake wire at the switch (or get a volt meter) and cut it and add a switch in place. Same applies to the rear lights.

I dunno how legal that would be, but it would be a simple matter to find the power wire going to any light and running an inline switch. You could use a simple, $5 relay and have one switch work for multiple lights...

Why in the world would you want to turn you lights off?

Ha Ha sounds to me you are up to no good. Spot lighting in VA you will lose your vehicle, guns, jakets, boots and a hefty fine.

your right spotlighting is illegal and i don't do it why would i spend 70 bucks on a box of COPPER bullets to stay legal and go do spotlighting that would be totally dumb. Here in N.cali we got some crazy hunting rules and lamest gun laws but i follow them all as i am pursuing law enforcement my self and want not a single charge on my record.

copper bullets? I would never spend that much on a box of bullets anyway. I thought my rifle shells were expensive at 29 a box

what are you wanting this for then? I guess i dont understand why you would do this if you dont want to do anything illegal

yea man copper bullets its crazy to take any game here in ca in cretin "condor" zones bullets have to be lead free even including .22 rounds for taking out ground squrals! because hippies sued saying lead in bullets was making condors sick but never proved it. but yet you can plink targets all day with lead bullets makes no sense there is more lead in water then bullets. any way i just want to do it so when i am on one of my ranches and just driving around thought it would be cool nothing illegal just thought it would be a cool trick. still cant figure it out though.
