I noticed a vibration in the rear end of my 2006 5.7 quad cab 1500 about 3 weeks ago and i do not know where it is coming from. The vibration is definitely rhythmic and peaks at 55 mph. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. (my tires are balanced, and alignment is good)
It is four wheel drive and the vibration is in the cab and is almost harmonic. It isn't a bad shake but you can feel it and hear it. I'm pretty sure that it isn't death wobble because me and a buddy just took care of that in his 2500 CTD.

My tires were balanced and my alignment was checked about a month ago because i replaced the stock tires for new bfg's
Check to make sure your wheel weights didnt fling off. Especially if they used the sticky weights.... Most of the time you wont feel it in the rear of your truck, but if you noticed it about 3 weeks ago and had alignment and balance done 4 weeks ago... its very possible. Dont just check for the front weights, there are weights on the back side of the wheel as well.
Also, you can put your truck on two jack stands on the rear and put the trans in neutral... Listen for any grinding or clunking as you rotate the wheels. Make sure vehicle isnt running because you wont hear it over engine/exhaust noise usually.
i was just having the same problem the vibration was only under power tho or atleast thats when i could really notice it, i changed my u joints and it went away
A harmonic or rhythmic vibration is associate with rotating shaft. Usually a drive shaft. Look for red dust around a U joint, this is an indicator of dry bearings. Good luck..
