I have a 2004 QC 4x4. I adjusted up the stock torsion bars, and I'm running 315/70R17's BFG A/T's with absolutly no rubbing at all - mind you I havent done any major off-roading since its my DD. But she handles the 315's without any issues!

You can play around with that. If you're just looking for a wider tire you can keep the aspect ratio in check by lowering the second number to a 65 or a 60... but if your looking for a taller tire just check your clearances... The 285 will fit fine. My stock tire right now is a 275/60r20 which is exactly 33'' ... your 285s will be 32.7... I say check a 295!! (not sure if it will fit width wise or not.
now that i know they will fit even without a level which level would you go with so the front wheel well doesnt look so stuffed a 1.5" or a 2"? im wanting to reuse the stock struts
This is what you said.. SO READ!!! You Never explained yourself so that's what i did below

I stated here that the trucks never came with 33" stock

What point are you trying to make? The EXACT truck comes with a 33in tall option, no suspension differences. That answers the OPs question, that 33in tall tires will fit as is. My response has nothing to do with a 17in rim, because rim size doesnt matter. There is nothing to explain...if the same model has a certain size with no changes, all comparable models will fit that size. I didnt say anything about you saying you could not fit 33s, I made a point that what came with a 17in rim DOESNT MATTER
Your post is adding nothing to the thread. If you have information that can help the OP then add a post, but if you are just trying to argue with facts then go to the open forums.
