Default Interior LEDs flickering, in desperate need of help..

Well I'm new here and have already found some really neat stuff, and I've got a problem of my own that I was hoping somebody could shed some light on. Here's the story...

A month or two ago I swapped out all of the lights in my dash for little blue LED lights and loved it. It worked perfectly for several weeks, until I had another idea. I bought two little LED strips and mounted them under the dash so they would shine light in the foot wells. I connected the power by tying into the 'panel lamps dimmer signal' wire right behind my headlight switch, then ran that to a rocker switch that I mounted. This worked perfectly for a day or two, then I started noticed that if I hit the rocker switch and turned my floor lights off..that my dash lights would all flicker for a few minutes and then cut off also.

So, after much frustration I pulled the power wire off so everything was back to normal, and guess what? Now every time I turn on my lights, the dash lights flicker for a while and then cut off. WHY??? It's totally back to stock.

Please, any input would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I have a similar issue, I put in blue leds in the dash and my dash lights flicker intermittently. I put the blue leds in the overhead as well but it never flickers? I have learned to live with it but would like to hear if there is something that can be done to stop it so Im bumping your thread!

Most LED's I've encountered weren't dimmer friendly unless explicitly stated. Maybe the dimmer switch is your culprit if its not set to full brightness.

Your dimmer switch along with everything inside your cluster is all Canbus equipt circuits. This means that a single wire can control many of the items within the dash including your headlights. This is possible through the variances of the resitive circuits in which they are programmed read. If you tie into a canbus circuit, you essentially change the resistance of that circuit and it messes up the programming so it cannot tell exactly what to control. You may have put the resistive tolerance out just enough to cause the issue of the flickering.
The reason your still having the problem after going back to stock is likely due to the TIPM has a stored active code that is tripping the voltage sense going to your dash lights. You can try to unhook both the positive and negative terminals and toughing them together for 30sec. This drains all the capacitor charge within the internal pcm and w2ill delete any active stored codes. If the problem persists after you have reset the pcm, you will probably have to go to the dealer for either a "reconfigure" of the TIPM, a possible new tipm installaed, or even a new cluster.
These electronic canbus devices are very sensitive to ANYTHING added to their circuitry. They are within a very fine tolerance and are not like older vehicles.
If your truck is under warranty, i would NOT tell them what you did unless you completely hacked the wiring behind the dimmer switch. if you used a t-tap, and for some reason they find the clamp marks, you could say you tapped the wire to test it with a multimeter to find what was going on.
If you say you installed floor lights and tapped that wire, they won't warranty anything because they have the right to deny you that coverage due to neglegence on your part. BUT..Your truck is still not back to stock. The dash lights are meant to be read as having a specific resistance. You changed them out to a different restive material(LED's). The reason you have the problem after the above is done, is because the tipm sends out a signal to test all the light circuits. if it detects an error 256x's in a row, it will set an active DTC code and cause problems. Eveb if you are lucky enough to reset the computer, it will probably happen again.
My suggestion is to pull out the blue led's and replace them with the factory halogen bulbs and then bring it to the dealer for warranty.
