In the 5 years I've been dealing with these trucks only ever once had the 4x freeze up. Got stuck in 4low. Turned out to be a problem with an actuator or something. Their advice was to drop it into 4low once a month just to exercise everything. Other than that nothing. And it can get downright nasty here. -22*C here right now, feels like -28*C

Yupp I gotta agree. Leaving it in 4wd wont hurt anything. Matter of fact mines sitting in the parking lot at work right now with it in 4wd.

Do let your truck warm up, getting in and going at -30c is really hard on the drive train give your self a mim of twenty five mim, I don't buy into the thinking new cars, trucks warm up quicker just by driving them.

I always think of taking off in cold weather, as if I was the truck. How would I like too be driven, stiff and cold? I wouldn't, so I don't.

and to warm up your truck better put it in neutral and the tranny will circulate as well. I park in 4x4 all the time with no problems.
