Default Diesel Conversion

I would like to swap out my HEMI for a Cummins of the same vintage? Does anyone know what I would need and where I could find those pieces? Would probably stick to the same year range of motor?

TIA

This was actually done recently on a 2002 with a 5.9 magnum. Do a search and you'll find the thread, there was good info in it.

would be easier n prolly cheaper to just trade er in and get one with a cummins, u would need a wrecked truck of the same year/generation to take bits and peices...ive heard it bolts up with a v-10 truck but i dunno bout a hemi, but seriously either trade it in or stroke the hemi or supercharge it...

theres been a few people do it, but all took quite a long time and ended up costing alot more than they originally thought.

Like previously stated, it would be easier and cheaper to trade out BUT if you want to take on the project there are multiple resources on here and other forums

Hey the Jan 2011 Diesel Power Magazine with a Bright yellow Ford F-250 tells you what to do to do the swap. At least you can get a pretty good idea on how to do it and the parts involved. More and more Fords are doing the Cummins swap

Search memeber Chris Mallet on the forum and he did it with a 12 valve cummins. It was a complete pain in the *** that took months.

Sounds like more of a pain in the *** than it's worth. Unless you're the kind of person who does stuff just to say that you did it...sell your gasser and buy a cummins.

the only way to do it is to find a wrecked truck of the same year, (depending on your year you may even have to narrow it down to a 1/2 year) and prefurably something that hasent had the front clip destroyed, then everything will simply bolt up and plug in, thats how i did mine, your trans will not work...

other engines can be put in but if you are starting from scratch, plan on spending ALOT of time, and better have a wheel barrow full of $1000 bills
