You have to take apart the whole diff. Take a look on weedahoe's signature and you'll see service manuals that will help, but if you don't have the tools and know-how already it'll be nearly impossible to do it yourself and have it last. Really you need to take it to a shop that specializes in this kinda thing.
However, if you find a newer wrecked truck, you can get a whole rear axle for much cheaper. That's what I did, 07 Rear diff w/~12,000 miles for $400. Took about 12 hours for the swap. Make sure gear ratios match, everything will bolt on except the sensor on top of the diff, take the old one out of yours and put it in the newer one

Wow that seems quite high. I got a replacement whole rear end for $400 the same as freestyle when I did my chevy. Are you checking salvage yard or even local salesfor wrecked or parts n project trucks? But I agree also I would rather replace a whole rear axle than setting bearings in a diff. anyday.

Yes I have checked salvage yards, I did a national search and thats the price I got , Ive found a local Mechanic who says he can replace the bearings for me for around $150.00 labor , plus I buy the parts Im going to have him do it , Hurts like hell to have somebody do my work but Ill let him have at it Thanks
