Default 03 Ram 1500 4.7L Catalytic converters question

Hi, I just signed up for this site. I've been on it many times before, for info and trouble shooting, always told myself, I would sign up one day. Thanks to everyone that posts here and for the mods and admin for do your part as well. I have searched and searched and searched for answers to this issue, but I can't find anything.

First, I just want to give a big EFF U to California and CARB!

I have one bad cat, drivers side. I'm sure the other one isnt to much farther behind. So, I've been looking and looking for replacements, well, that's just not how it goes here in CA. For some reason there are no certified cats for the 4.7. There are for the 5.7 and 5.9. Why is that? I tried to get the front 2 cat's and the rear cat, yesterday. The guy could only find them for the 5.7 and 5.9, so, I said order them. When, I went and got them, the numbers are super close and could probably pass visual, problem is the stock front cats are about 7" and the new ones are about 15" long. Is there a way to find the stock size cats, maybe for another vehicle. I can't find anything here in CA, every shop tells me I need the full system, which they priced at $2,500.

Ive been looking into getting some sent from a website to a friends house in AZ, because every website I check wont ship to CA and aren't certified. I'm a litte exhuasted. Then, I look closer and no one has anything listed for a 4.7. Anyone have any idea on what I can do without bending over and taking it up the tailpipe? Website, numbers, job listings and homes for sale outside of CA, etc..

Thanks in advance!

Matt
