Default question on northern states rust prevention

Here's where I'm from...did you guys see this?

nice eh?

Anyways, the guy I'm workin with has a 2002 ram ext cab. His doors and wheel wells are rusting out quite quickly. Brake lines rusted out and caused an accident because he lost brakes.

I can inspect some parts of the brake lines hopefully, but what about the rust on the body panels? Does anyone have a solution to perhaps prevent, or slow down the onset of rust in these areas? Neighbor is convinced to wax the interior and exterior parts of the lower door and in the wheel wells. He doesn't wipe off the excess, he uses a ton and believes this will prevent rust. Who knows????

This is what I miss about North Dakota, we didn't use salt or chemicals...it just gets too darn cold and they don't work, so why bother. We just used sand. Here in MN I thought my truck was black, but it looks more white from December to March. haha!

Anyone who lives up north where they use ANYTHING on the roads should always inspect the under side of their rides IMO.

But I use Ospho and LPS-3 under my rides and on my trailers.
