Whats the best programmer for a 2004 ram
I know people like the diablo sport and superchips, But I have a 2004 with hemi.
I would like a better shifting trans. and need to change axle ratio option or tire size. I installed a srt-10 dana 60 with 4.56 gears and my speedo is off 10 mph.

Superchips, either the 3865 or the Cortex. I don't believe anybody else has tranny support for an '04.
I have a fairly laid back shift schedule programmed (still a good bit more aggressive than stock though) and have my torque management reduced 80%. Some pretty good aggressive shift schedules out there you can use though...

Nice rearend there. If your speedo is off then must have to do with the difference in tone ring size. With SC3865 you can enter different tire OD, so as a last resort if you cannot figure out an easy solution you can enter a bigger or smaller tire size to make up the 10 MPH (Just a thought) Good Luck..

I have the 3865. The Cortex has the same tunes, but the added benefit of coming with a powertrain warranty (which is void IF you download the tranny recalibrations). So I personally see no benefit in spending the extra coin on the Cortex.
The speedo is read off the ring gear, so re-calibration is not necessary for a gear change. On vehicles that require this, the corresponding SC unit has axle ratio options. You only need to recalibrate the speedo for tire size diameter changes and yes, the SC has that option...

It would be nice if SOMEBODY would offer BOTH tranny support and custom tunes for an '04, wouldn't it?
But selling off an SC, buying a Diablo for a larger cam and giving up tranny support doesn't have to happen though. A good many guys are now piggybacking a Superchips with an SCT.
Although I've heard talk of "Off-Road Only" tuners in the works at SC, so lets hope...
