With LTs and some high flow cats you might get CELs from the O2 sensors. But have no fear, follow this thread HERE and you will be ok.

When I did mine this way I stuff mine with 0000 steel wool

Be sure to read all the other FAQs HERE

well I was gonna have an exhaust shop install the headers and then just have them straight pipe it from the cats I don't think they will work on it without the cats.

You can install the headers yourself and save some money. You are right about the shops not wanting to work on them without cats. You usually have to find a shop out in the country or someone who runs under the radar and will do it.

Most shops wont remove the cats for you... If you contact them saying you bought a truck without the cats on it... And bring it to them to do the work without the cats. Meaning cut them off yourself.

how hard is it to put fl headers on the 06 I know with my 99 the guy bitched about the shortys cuz he had to cut wrenches and bend some to get the bolts closest to the fire wall and as for my cats is it a big power loss if I just put high flow cats on it?

Cut wrenches? Its alot cheaper in the long run if he has the right wrenches to begin with. There is a tool for every job. Goto a better mechanic this time.
