Default Truck Dies when lights are turned on

Hey ya'll my truck dies when I turn on my lights, atleast it is the only time I have had this happen. I replaced the alternator and that was not the problem. It also seems to maybe be having some air flow issues and the IAC may need to be cleaned, but this wouldn't cause my engine to die when the lights are turned on I wouldn't think. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Kaci

Have you checked the battery? You can go to AutoZone or O'Reillys to have them check the battery for you.

I wouldn't think so either, but which lights killed it? just the parking lamps, just when you turned on the headlights or the fogs if you have them?

Does it shut off completely or just cut out? When my computer took a crap my engine would cut out everytime I turned the lights on...only for a split second, but went away after computer was replaced.

the battery is good has been checked and it only dies for a second and will start right back up, it happens when you turn on main lights and fog lights, i always ride with both on in the dark. I have the projection HID lights thought it may have been pulling to much juice but just started recently, and I have had those lights for awhile now. I am stumped..... I had a friend that works at a dealership put the computer on it and nothing came back except for the IAC... I am having some air flow issues also. truck is a POS but it looks good HA.

Does this happen consistently and can it be duplicated? What about if you turn JUST the headlights on? What if you turn JUST the fogs on?

Have you tried starting it with the headlights already on? OR will it not stay running?

It happens after the engine is already started then once I turn the lights on including fog lights it dies check engine light comes on,then it starts right back up. I was driving on the freeway one day turned my lights on and it died on a busy freeway I had to hurry and get over to the shoulder. I did try and start it after the lights where already on and that seemed to work fine. Yesterday I was leaving work and got to the stop sign turned on my lights and it died again. It is happening more and more. No one seems to know what the problem is since it isn't throwing any codes. Thought about putting old lights back in and seeing if that helps. My heater coil is also plugged and my dash is cracked so this ought to be fun trying to get to that without ruining my whole dash. UGH UGH UGH. frustrated and I have new truck fever
