Default Key not locking in ignition

Didnt find anything through a search so was wondering if anyone else has the problem of being able to slide out the key no matter what position the key is in. I can take it out while driving, while just radio is on, any position at all. I think its just the wear and tear on sliding the key in and out so many times that has just worn down the locks...so how costly do yall think this repair would be? I doubt its a diy so anyone know what needs replaced?

Costly? Not much. Just need to replace the ignition. You can buy one at Autozone and change it out in just a few minutes. Just take out the screws on the bottom of the steering column cover to remove the top cover and ign switch.

DOes it bother you that much? I had an old blazer that had the same problem. it was great in the winter when I did not have a remote starter. The other good thing is you can start the truck put the keys in your pocket and ull never lock your keys in the truck. lol...

Ha yeah after finals week your brain needs a break but yes as weed said you can get a new ignition from anywhere like autozone. I've replaced them before in my old chevy and theres really nothing to it. Change it out, comes with new keys and your good to go.

Yall are starting to talk me into leaving it broken lol. It always does leave peoples jaws on the floor when I take the keys out while driving....
and its good if you leave people in your truck with just the radio on and you dont want them to start it or anything!
