Default Rear end leak - pinion seal?

it looks like i have a leak where the drive shaft and rear end connect. Fluid is being thrown all over the underside of the truck bed right above the connection. How hard or easy is this to fix? is it the pinion seal? has anyone done a diy thread? please help - i miss driving my baby.
