Default Evs ii

My truck is the 2005 RAM 1500 SLT 5.7 standard cab. It has factory remote door locks and I have one transmitter. I have not had it long and was looking at the dash when I noticed a small indicator light and a push button that appeared to be aftermarket.

I took the panel off under the steering column and found a bundle of wires and an EVS II Security Plus 05011619AA module with 3 plugs. Two of the plugs were unplugged. When I plugged them in the lights began to flash and the under dash bell began to ring.

The transmitter I have had no effect on it. With it completely removed the truck appears to still work.

I have looked on this forum and searched the web but do not find any information on this particular unit. Does anyone have any information on it?

Weedahoe
There are a lot of guys out there (WWW) talking about how there are no instructions available. It would be great if I could find some install and parts literature. At this point I don't know what is missing.

it seems to me a mopar add-on accessory so other than searching the board here, you would be best to contact someone at Dodge for literature

You probably don't have the correct transmitter. I't likely and add-on fobb that's additional and was prob unplugged because the fobb itself may have been lost?

Did you try inserting the key in the ignition and see if it turned the flashing lights and bell off? Not that it wouldhelp you with activating it, but would tell you if it's all wired up correctly and a fobb just needs to be replaced.

I'll check it out this evening. I got a part number from Dodge for the fob 4686481AF They seem to be commonly available.

I tried putting the module back in the truck and it works. I just needed to know how to activate/de-activate it. It is kinda cheesy for an alarm system so I can see why it was unplugged. The transmitter number I posted earlier is the one I have so it's all good.

I would like to have the wiring diagram if someone has it.

Thanks for everyone's input.

Have a Merry Christmas.
