315's with Cranked Torsion Bars
I have a 2004 1500 4x4 with the torsion bars cranked to bring the truck level. Has anyone ran 315/70/17's with just a torsion bar crank on a 2004? I was thinking of getting a set of 17x9 Pro Comps with 4 5/8" backspacing. Should this tire/wheel combination fit, or will they rub? Any advice appreciated.
ur not planning on buying the pro comps off that dude selling them on this forum are u ?????/ He is a scammer...... i wouldnt send him a dime people said he did the same on other sites....
also i have heard that he 315's will fir with the bars cranked up. make sure u get an alignment after that though. but i heard they wond rub unless going offroad when the suspension flexes dramatic

I just put 315/70/17 BFG All terrains on my 03 4x4 off road, with the torsion bars turned 7 revolutions each, and the front end alligned. they fit with my stock rims. I haven't put any miles on them yet, but they were mounted at a reputable place.
I like the way that looks. I am thinking about putting the torsion bar keys in mine to get the 2" level look in the front end. I was planning on 285-70s on it. But I might need to go with 305s. I might just turn the bars a couple of times to level it up as apposed to the keys.

Alright- I'm looking into a Fabtech 6" lift and they specify 17 x 8" rims with 4.5" backspacing for my 4x4. They say to fit 315/70/ R17 tires. First of all, is this brand lift recommended? The 17 x 8" wheel is really hard to find. Procomp makes a 6" lift and the B.S. for the wheel can be 4.75" Should I go with the procomp? Also, the "cranked torsion bar" method is new to me. Can someone explain this process?

a 315 width tire onto a 17x8 rim? seems a little farfetched...lemme know how the fit/ride quality turns out. I would think that 17x9 is the smallest rim a 315 should be fit on.
