Default Truck Dies When Shifting

Just started happening every once in a while that when i am reversing, i will put the truck into drive and before i can step on the gas to go the truck will sputter and die. Il shift it into park and it restarts fine, happens every couple months. Could it be a bad fuel filter but would that make sense when shifting? Had a couple other possibilities but figured id ask the experts. The truck is a 2003 ram 1500 2wd 5.7 hemi QC

first thing i would try is disconnecting your battery for 5 to 10 min and get the ecu reset

I had a similar problem in the summer on really hot days except my truck did not totally die. The RPM's dropped and it came very close to stalling but I caught it before it stalled. I've read cleaning the throttle body or IAC valve might help.
