I agree.
TSB from Dodge:
ATF+4 is compatible with other Chrysler approved power steering fluids, but to avoid confusion due the fluid color difference, ATF+4 should not be mixed or used as a "topping off" fluid on systems requiring MS5931 or MS9933(these are dodge approved PS fluids). On some past models, ATF+4 should be used as the replacement fluid. On these models, if a steering system is being serviced that results in a large fluid loss, such as a pump, hose or gear/rack replacement, the complete system should be drained and filled with ATF+4 (MS9602).

You shouldn't Mix them but you can use one or the other with ATF+4 providing superior results as Dodge claims. it's a TSB because many topp-off people have had issue's with the fluids as they don't comine with one another and if you need to topp off, then you've got a problem somwehre, whether it's an external leak or an internal seal leak? It's a closed system and shouldn't ever need additional fluid.

Well, he prob went to get his PS fluid flushed and they found out stuff was bad.
ANYTIME you have to add PS fluid when there are no external leaks, you've got a problem of leaking internally and it's your R&P that must be changed out.
ANYTIME you have a bad R&P that has chewed through some gears, you either must flush the pump out or replace it with a new one if there are any signs of noise/wear.
Kinda of a crappy design and they should install a factory filter on the return line IMO to prevent this issue.

Story,
Fiancee had picup at work because we had 4 inches of snow. Pickup sat all day at work when -10 to -5 with 30-40 mph winds and blowing snow (blizzard). went started pickup noticed an unusual noise. Figured just cold. Tryed to drive no PS. Drove pickup to the shop to thaw. noticed that there was no power steering fluid in. added fluid noticed it had a milky type color, and what appeared to be small leak. Came on here because I added power steering fluid. Went to dealer saying there is a small leak and i added power steering fluid. They are like how long ago. I said about 12hrs, but only drove it up here. said they whould flush, and see leak. figured 20-30 min. Took in and checked it out 30 min later advised me, I needed a Rack stearing gear. Found that blowing snow also got into where the leak was and froze. Causeing more problems.
So they told me 3-4 hours to fix. then they did the alignment to the front wheels. total cost 1008.31. and 4 hours of sitting inside a dodge dealer in -5 deg outside and a 5 year old..... FUNDAY....

new question in the same thing?
So they did the alignment but none of the rear tires shwo green

anyone tell me if these would be in specs
Left Rear, Chamber 0.1, Toe 0.04
Total Toe 0.19
Thrust Angle -0.06
Right Rear Chamber -0.4, Toe 0.15
Are these within specs or do I now have to get the rear aligned also?

Thank God I've got a 2500. I just had to do a steering box and it cost me $121. Nothin' like a solid axle!
