sorry for the slow response im not that much online currently,

when the horn sounds and the alarm goes of One press of Alarm disable / doors unlock does the trick.

But i forgot to tell have sort of a (solution) when i pres multiple times unlock as a approach the truck, the alarm has NEVER gon off. it only happens when i only pres one time (and still only randomly here and there) and it does not matter if its the passanger door or the drivers side door that is opend first.

thinking about it, i only think that this happens durring cold weather. here i denmark Europe, we are currently having down to -10 degrees at night and durring day from -4 to +1 degrees, i dont know if that has anything to do with it. i cant remember if it does it in the summer.

I have a 08 1500 4x4. One day last Dec, my truck got stuck in alarm mode, keyless entry would not work, nor would truck start, and alarm was going off. Had truck towed to dealer, Machanic came out and pulled a fuse, and reinstalled. He said it was a stactic electricy isue that made it stick in alarm mode. ( said it could happen again) They installed a upgrade from Dodge, ( not recall) and said that would take care of problem.
Now in March.. today it got stuck out of alarm mode.. remote would not lock or unlock. I pulled fuse, and put back in.. Alarm, and remote works again.. silly.

hhhmmm very interesting, so is the alarm going off when you open a door or just at random? and the update from dodge was it a physical update or was it a computer update? and most importantly what is the fuse labeled?

I have an 07 Ram 1500 w/ the Laramie package. Same exact problem. If I unlock the doors using the remote, never a problem. When I open the door with the key, sets the alarm off every time! The owner's manual says all you have to do to shut the alarm off is put the key in the ignition, or press the unlock button on the fob, but it never shuts mine off. In fact, I can start my truck and drive down the road (which I've done) which is odd because if it's a security feature, you wouldn't think the truck would start! Love to find a solution, but in the meantime I just have to remember to unlock the truck using the keyless!

I should mention when the alarm goes off and I can't shut it off with the fob, I can start the truck up and go down the road with the alarm blaring. It's an embarrasing attention getter because people don't think you know how to turn your alarm off. Eventually it times out and shuts off, but not before everyone thinks you're a moron!

hhhmmm, well sometimes I can get mine to turn the alarm off by pressing the panic button, it doesn't work all the time, or the first time always, but the unlock button I never get that to work shutting off the alarm. also I have been pressing the unlock button several times before touching the door for over a year now without a problem, but if I accidently press the panic button look out, its going to take me 5 minutes to disable the alarm such a pain!

Davidyonkie,

The alarm is supposed to go off when unlocking the doors with a key. The door lock cylinders do not have door disarm circuits and the security alarm can only be disarmed with a programmed key registered to the vehicle. Once the alarm is triggered, a valid unlock request is required by the remote or by inserting a programmed key into the ignition and turning it to the run position. This improves the vehicle's security by allowing only the vehicles electronic system to disarm with a valid programmed key.

Do you tried using a spare key to see if it disarms the alarm? That may help determine if it is the key or something with the vehicle. If you are looking to have this further reviewed with a Dodge dealer please feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to help.
