Default keyless entry/alarm issues

ok here's the deal, i have an 07 ram 1500 with a factory installed alarm, every now and again i will unlock the truck and open the door and the alarm goes off, and i have to hit the disarm like five or ten times before it shuts off, and it isn't that i am openening it after the alarm has armed itself i press the button the doors unlock then i open it and the alarm goes off, then the other day i was in the house put my keys in my pocket and must have hit the panic button in the process because my alarm went off so i went outside and hit the disarm button nothing hit the arm button nothing same with panic, started the truck nothing put it in gear same result nothing would shut off the alarm, and when i hit the arm and disarm button the doors would unlock and lock so the truck was getting the signal but wouldn't shut off the alarm then my wife walked outside hit the button on her key once and it shut off. now i have never had keyless entry before, when the battery starts to go dead will it unlock the doors but not disarm the alarm? or is there something wrong with my remote, because i don't want to waste money putting a new battery in a junk remote, and i don't want to buy a new remote because of a junk battery, or is it something wrong with the truck and not the remotes fault at all, just wanted to know if anyone else has any ideas or have had the same problems, thanks

Could be where your parking at. Something interfering with the remote. Some sort of radio frequency? I know at my job, a co-worker would park next to me and set off my alarm. Happened almost everytime. Couldn't figure out why. Had to tell her not to park next to me after a while. I have the same factory alarm. Once in a while it will go off for no apparent reason.

Yeah, no problem there. Guess you should take it to the dealer.

How long has this problem been happening? Have you tried changing the battery in the key fob?

well the first time it happended was late this summer, and it is so hit or miss i am not sure but it has probably done it like 10 times or so since then, but i haven't replaced the battery because it lock and unlocks the doors with no problem, like i said this is my first vehicle with keyless entry, do you know when the battery starts to go dead will it still unlock the doors no problem but not disable the alarm?

Change the battery. It will have intermittent efects when the battery gets low. Atleast isolate that problem out right away.
I assume you have the standard key/remote fobb all-in-one key and not a key with a seperate fobb?
It sounds like maybe you have an active factory alarm rather than a standard passive that comes standard? So, are you by chance locking the doors by hand out of convenience and then unlocking by remote? My explorer has this problem when I lock by hand and unlock by remote and it seems nothing wants to shut the alarm off other than multiple presses of the buttons...or by unlocking the door via key.

The next time the alarm goes off, stick the key in the driver door and lock/unlock the door twice...USING THE KEY, not the fobb. This should turn your alarm off. Using your ignition cylinder is for most aftermarket alarms, not for factory.

to be honest i don't think i have ever locked the doors by hand, i always listen for the beep to let me know i armed the alarm, but i will try to replace the battery, the only thing that sux is that it only happens now and again so there is no real way to test it, i will just find out if it didn't work with a bunch of people staring at me in a parking lot while i frantically press the disarm button with no result, but thank you for the key in door tip i will def. try this next time

i have the exact same problem, only i have installed a airhorn in the truck so when it does it for me i always get a enormus shock.

i have had this problem for 1.5 year, i still havent found a solution. thinking about just disabling the alarm horn, (nice to have your own factory programer) i havent changed battery in the transmitter, but thats not the problem, if there was a problem with the transmitterbattery the range would be impared, i have a 2005 dodge ram 2500 hd Diesel, with a seperate transmitter from the key and i of cours have 2 transmitters, it does it with both transmitters.

hoping someone finds a solution, (i have also tryed with long presses on the button, short presses on the button, nothing gave me a difference in the random time to time alarm going off when using the unlock button on the transmitter and then opening the door 4 seconds after the lock poping up and the lights have flashed.)

but i get the airhorn tested around 1-2 times a month. (without wanting to test it.)

thank god someone else has had this problem, i still havent gotten it fixed, considering taking it to the dealer to have them disable the alarm entirely, this is such a frustrating problem, when you have this happen does pressing the disarm button work on the first try or do you have to press it multiple times? have you ever had it not want to shut off at all no matter how many time you push disarm?
