Default Reprograming the speedo/trip computer.

Trying to get info on what all is involved in making the speedo run right with some bigger tires? I figure it will be dealership, or, can I do it with most tuners? Will my trip computer need anything done to it?? Kinda bummed the new baby only has 3.73's. I was gonna do 305's but i might just do 285's now......

The computer can be changed to deal with some limited variations in tire size, but I don't know to what extent in Gen II. Mine is quite a bit off (indicated 76 is 80). I just live with it.

Most tuners can do the speedo recalibration nowadays and of course the dealer can do it for you as well for tires up to 34" (for a fee).

3.73s kinda suck for big tires on a 2500, but at least be glad you didn't buy a MegaCab. IMO Mega's shouldn't even be available with a gas engine and anything less than 4.10s...

Funny you said that hammer. I was looking at a megacab with a hemi and decided that it was too much truck for a gas engine. I was hoping for 3.92's but got the build sheet and was sad to see 3.73's. I would guess the trip computer goes off your speedo right? I kinda like things to work the way they should from the factory (some exceptions of course).
